When people come to the Great state of Alaska they have a thought or vision if you will about what they are going to see here, like a dream! When I first came to Alaska I dreamed of seeing the wildlife it holds. From Eagles to Bear from Salmon to Humpback whales, not to mention many more! I decided to find a piece of wood were I could compose a sculpture of such wildlife. I came up with a few drawings and one stuck- a Dal sheep as the Highest in elevation fading to an Eagle grasping a salmon, a grizzly bear and a humpback whale at the bottom breaching from the sea! So the theme decided for this sculpture is “Great Land Dreams”.
This sculpture is for sale! Contact Jordan for pricing and other info- [email protected]

It all started from a fishing trip. It was March in Homer, AK. You can’t help but notice all the eagles on the shoreline in March. They flock like the geese in the Mississippi River Basin. I saw eagles in every expresion immaginable. I observed one eagle grab a fish and take it to shore. As I was eatting breakfast at a local restaurant and sipping on a hot cup of captain’s coffee I was startled by the famous cackle of a another bald eagle as I was looking with many others at two eagles fighting over herreing(small fish) in mid flight. It was another awe inspiring display of God’s creation.
So I decided to carve the sculpture you see above. Purely one chainsaw purely one piece of spruce carved in one weekend. This is simply my favorate piece. One of my friends keeps asking about this one but to be honest I just can’t let it go. I’ve had it for a year now. This is one wood carving I think I may keep for myself.
